Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well. Below are numbers 19 & 20:
#19 “Tomatoes Study”, oil on birch panel, 4″x4″
I am very happy with the way the tomato flesh turned out in this one. It’s really difficult to get the exact colour of something and also convey its solidity or translucency. In this case, I was able to get the smooth skin and solid orangey-red of the tomato flesh. I am also happy about the bluish-green of the stem.
By the way, the title of this piece is not a typo😊. I guess I had to do a pear at some point. These are Bartlett pears which I’m not fond of eating, but painting them was fine. The bright colour scheme in this one is a departure for me. I like the solidity and the weight of fruit in this piece.
I can’t believe this weekend is going to be Christmas! I’m still behind with the preparations! And I’ve got 10 more paintings to go! I have to tell you, I’ll be relieved when this challenge is over.
